BIM File FAQ
+
Structural and architectural elements meet the LOD 200 specification. Model elements are graphically represented as a generic system, object, or assembly with approximate quantities, size, shape, location, and orientation within the model. Non-graphical information can also be added to a Model Element. In LOD 200, elements are generic placeholders using Autodesk’s default Revit Families. They can be recognized as the components they represent or they can be volumes for space reservation. Any information derived from LOD 200 elements should be considered approximate and will form the starting point for your BIM project to evolve. Choosing the right camera and running a proper scanning process is important to ensure an accurate BIM representation. We recommend using a Matterport Pro3 camera for areas with high ceilings, as it increases the density of the point cloud at longer distances. Scanning your area thoroughly and avoiding misalignment or missing areas will help maintain the accuracy of your BIM.

Before you purchase your BIM file, we will provide you with an estimated price. This estimate is automatically generated based on the square footage of the Matterport area and the selected building element package. The estimated cost includes exterior areas that are not included in the final BIM file output. The final price is based on the delivered BIM File (.RVT) size and may differ from the initial estimate. If you need more details on pricing, please feel free to contact us.
